Amarilys
If there's one thing that is positively certain about Miss Amarilys Rue, it is that she is a social butterfly and a lover of the arts. She never shies away from an opportunity that lets her meet new people and explore new things. She's a free spirit, doing whatever pleases her when it pleases her, and never gives a second thought to it.
She's well versed with empathy, and always lends a healing ear or soothing voice. Wisdom is not a strange concept to Lily, and she has a wealth of advice for any willing to hear it. Besides these qualities, she is also incredibly flirtatious, humorous, and enjoys her big ego a bit too much.
Lily always has a smile across her lips, the best fashion available to her, and a positive attitude.

In the past...
Her birth name long forgotten, Lily grew up in the mountains of Dalmasca like most Veena. Her settlement was located closest to the top of the peaks, and most of her early years were spent in the frozen mountains surrounded by snow. She is wont to speak of her past, though it has been said that she and her mother rarely got along. Both women are stubborn, however, where Lily follows her heart, her mother follows the Green Word.
Amarilys was groomed from birth to follow in her mother's footsteps and one day lead their village. She had inherited the family's affinity for aetherial magics and had a future of protecting their mountains and the woad below. The responsibility of such leadership made Rue uneasy, especially considering her indifference towards her people.
Exile never scared her, and she was excited to leave as soon as possible.
Once she reached greater civilization at around 90 years of age, she spent months in correspondence with Eorzean traders. She received sponsorship for her journey overseas from Madame Winnow, a famous owner of a house of 'splendor' in Ul'dah.
in the present...
Her recent history begins in her new home, where she worked quickly to rise to the top. She became a popular choice of companion for the Ul'dahn elite and spent 30yrs in the employ of a Syndicate member, Lord Fefekoni Cecekoni, following a tedious two decades in a brothel. During this time, she became an expert in many tradecrafts and arts, and with the help of her patron, sponsored many Othardian merchants and their journeys out of the Garlean occupation. Most folks were artists or specialists in their crafts, lost souls much like her own, who yearned for a fresh start.
She also convinced Fefekoni to purchase housing for such refugees so that they may have a place to call home and food on their table, making sure their basic necessities were met so they could flourish with new connections.
Amarilys crafted an exceptional reputation for herself both within Ul'dah and without as a philanthropist and as an exceptional courtesan. She spent many nights in the Royal Promenade dancing away her worries and keeping the company of the wealthiest members of Eorzean society.
Fefekoni treasured Lily's companionship and, with no heirs to his estate, left the majority of his wealth in her name when he passed eight years ago. She has since left her business in Ul'dah in the hands of her trusted friends when called to support the Scions.
The Echo manifested within Rue and her young friend Astreia following the Seventh Umbral Calamity, which, needless to say, changed the course of their lives. Together, they would follow the call, unaware of what Hydaelyn held in store.
...and the future
It was a twist of fate which put her in the hands of the Scions of Seventh Dawn. She never fancied herself a fighter, but she has always had an affinity for magic which proved useful. While she leaves most of the work to her companions and takes on a more supportive role, she is still instrumental to their cause.
In Gridania, she found trusted allies in Oric Hadia and Yuelian Lune. Alongside them and Astreia, Amarilys continued their work as influential members of the Eorzean Alliance and of the Scions. Amarilys would soon find herself traveling the world as a diplomat, organizing trade and funding passage for the Scions and their suppliers. Traveling through the war-torn Far East was beyond Rue's worst nightmares, and she felt forced to take up combat once more to protect her friends.
Despite it all, she still finds time to cherish her friends and unwind. She meets her best friend on one of her excursions to Ishgard, a Master N'ikola Marseille, and eventually, her loving Misstress Sage Orenji.
Amarilys is unsure of what her future holds accompanying the Warrior of Light, but she is grateful to have trusted allies at her side.
